Numeric Expressions

Think about the following situation:

Jan receives an allowance of $5.00 a week. For 5 weeks, she has put all of her allowance in a savings account.

You can represent Jan¡¯s savings with a numeric expression. A numeric expression uses numbers and operations to describe quantities.

Example:

Jan saved $5.00 + $5.00 + $5.00 + $5.00 + $5.00.

Expressions always contain numbers and operations, but they do not include an equal sign.
