(5) come/go/turn full circle - to be in the same situation in which you began, even though there have been changes during the time in between 周而复始: Fashion has come full circle and denim is back. (6) dawn - the time at the beginning of the day when light first appears 破晓 We worked from dawn to dusk (=through the whole day while it is light). (7) yawn - to open your mouth wide and breathe in deeply because you are tired or bored 打呵欠: Alan stretched and yawned. (8) rust - to become covered with rust, or to make something become covered in rust 腐败;生锈: The gate was old and badly rusted. (9) get/go nowhere - to have no success or make no progress 不成功或没进展: get nowhere with somebody/something; get somebody nowhere 在某方面没进展 The proposal went nowhere in the Senate. He was getting nowhere with the Bentley case. A negative attitude will get you nowhere. (10) toll - a very bad effect that something has on something or someone over a long period of time (toll on) 损失;损耗: Years of smoking have taken their toll on his health.
